KNOW 2019 Day 1 Recap
After a fantastic evening at the Au10tix pool party at the Aria in Las Vegas, the first day of KNOW 2019 has come to close.
The focus of today’s sessions was education. A series of exclusive master classes was a new edition to programming for KNOW 2019, bringing identity professionals from various industries together to share lessons learned from the front lines.
The Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) announced the launch of Breach Clarity, a new tool to empower victims of data breaches to decode what a breach means to them and how they can minimize the risk of identity theft and fraud.
Yubico and Netflix gave a presentation on “The death of the password,” where the two companies walked through the flow of various components of MFA — what you know, what you have, and who you are — and how they can come together to create a secure and efficient environment for users and employees.
The Sunday master classes also featured a full crash course on the emerging field of self-sovereign identity. Heather Vescent and Learning Machine’s Kim Hamilton Duffy kicked off with an overview of SSI as a new paradigm for identity. Drummond Reed, Chief Trust Officer of Evernym, then offered a 201 course on the practical applications of SSI built on the Hyperledger Indy and the Sovrin Network.
Thanks to the presenters and attendees who built an excellent foundation for the rest of KNOW 2019 content.
